    Chef

    Responsibilities

    • Create menus that cater to the taste and preferences of the hotel’s guest
    • Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals
    • Ensure that meals are prepared to meet quality and safety standards
    • Maintain inventory of food supplies and ordering ingredients as needed
    • Supervise kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and orderliness
    • Ensure that all meals leaving the kitchen meet the hotel’s standard for taste and appearance
    • Prepare alternative dishes when necessary
    • Coordinate with other staff such as waiters to ensure smooth service
    • Stay updated on culinary trends
    • Listen to guest feedback and make necessary improvements to food quality and service
    • Resolve food related issues or complaints promptly
    • Implement sustainable practices to reduce food wastage
    • Manage cooking services for events hosted by the hotel such as weddings and birthdays

    Requirements

    • Culinary degree or relevant certification from a culinary institute is preferred.
    • Proven experience as a chef in a restaurant or hospitality establishment.
    • In-depth knowledge of various culinary techniques, cuisines, and food presentation.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
    • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Creativity and a passion for food, staying updated on culinary trends and innovations.
    • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
