Job Summary

• The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions, processing payments, and maintaining a high level of customer service in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment
• Maintain a high level of customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues
• Count and reconcile cash and receipts at the beginning and end of each shift
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the cash register and surrounding area
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve sales goals and improve customer satisfaction
• Follow company policies and procedures, including security and loss prevention measures

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required with 1 - 3 years work experience. 
• Previous experience as a cashier or in a related role preferred
• Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends

Nice to Have:

• Experience with point-of-sale systems and electronic payment processing
• Knowledge of retail operations and management
