    Program Officer (Movement Cooperation Officer 2)

    Job Description

    • Under the direct supervision of the Movement Cooperation Specialist, The Movement Cooperation Officer 2 contributes to developing and implementing the delegation’s objectives for cooperation with the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) and other present Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement partners, in line with the ICRC’s Movement policies and in consultation with the local operating National Society (NS). 
    • The Movement Cooperation Officer 2 contributes to building positive relationships between the ICRC and NRCS, supports in identification of capacity building gaps, exploring jointly with NRCS management mitigation measures. He/she also works with other Movement components in support of NRCS initiatives in its delivery of its humanitarian Mandate.

    Responsibilities

    • Contributes to implementing the operational partnership between the ICRC and the NRCS by working closely with colleagues and the NRCS to develop joint procedures and partnership agreements; develops the partnership skills of the ICRC and NRCS.
    • Analyses and summarises information relevant to the operational partnership between the ICRC and the NRCS; identifies gaps in capacity and proposes solutions in line with the operational approach and the delegation strategy on Movement Cooperation.
    • Organises and participates in relevant trainings/workshops/meetings (e.g. Emergency First Aid Teams, Safer Access Framework, monitoring and evaluation, Volunteer Database Management, Finance Development) in the identified branches, closely working with Cooperation Abuja, and providing support as required.
    • Takes trips to the field to prepare and attend joint assessments and/or contribute to the identification, recommendation, and implementation of NRCS capacity-building initiatives.
    • Maintains an open line of communication with NRCS technical staff on operations and capacity building needs and support.
    • Contributes to maintaining a constant overview of the Red Cross Movement’s activities, capacity and affairs; contributes to organising various Red Cross (RC) Movement’s meetings.
    • Supports the Movement Cooperation Coordinator, on issues related to partnership with the NRCS and coordination within the RC Movement in the area of responsibility.
    • Contributes to the implementation of the Cooperation Framework Agreement and its Annexes related to general Cooperation support; ensure that the NRCS Branches receive required technical and financial support and provide reports (narrative and financial) on a regular basis, as per established format and procedures; facilitates NRCS Branches receive training and regular coaching in financial management and reporting.
    • Contributes to the development of the structure’s network or of own network of contacts with local stakeholders.
    • Support NRCS Branches to draw up quarterly plans of action in various thematic areas.
    • Works to ensure coordination and coherence between the different ICRC operational objectives that involve the NRCS in identified Branches and Divisions.
    • Oversees and monitors projects and activities (including ICRC/NRCS joint activities) in the identified NRCS branches with requisite reporting and contributes to institutional reporting.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with a humanitarian organization.
    • Work experience in a field relevant to partnership management or organizational development.
    • Excellent command (spoken and written) of English, Hausa an asset.
    • Computer proficiency (Excel, word and power point)
    • Good analytical skills.
    • Applicant must have a valid working permit to work in Nigeria.

    Warehouse Officer 1

    Job Summary

    • Under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Officer 1 is responsible for the proper handling and storage of goods in accordance with standard operating procedures. 
    • He/she will organize and control movement of goods in & out and give accurate record of monthly and periodic inventories.

    Responsibilities

    • Receives and checks incoming goods against the delivery note and reports any issues.
    • Ensures that goods are properly stored, picked, packed, and loaded and reports any issues.
    • Ensures that all the stored goods are properly labelled (expiry dates, batch numbers, manufacturer, etc.) and recorded.
    • Weighs and tallies goods during loading and unloading.
    • Updates bin cards and stock cards when supervising an inventory transaction.
    • Participates in inventory counts.
    • Keeps the facility's equipment and materials neat, clean and orderly and reports any issues.
    • Where required, ensures that temperatures are duly recorded.
    • May be called upon to supervise the Loaders or day workers.
    • Ensures that risks are mitigated by performing the controls assigned to his/her role as described in the Logistics Risk and Control Matrix.

    Education and Experience

    • National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree is an asset.
    • 2-3 years of experience in Logistics, storekeeping, administration, or similar position.
    • Good Verbal and basic written English knowledge.
    • Good level in computer skills.
    • Skilled in the following competencies: Adapting & Learning, Teamwork, Planning, Organization & Assessment; Communication (Ability to express views and ideas).
    • Applicant must have a valid working permit to work in Nigeria.
