    Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Shift In-Charge (Rolling Mill)

    Job Summary

    • The Shift In-Charge (I/C) - Mechanical Maintenance is responsible for leading the mechanical maintenance team during their assigned shift in a rolling mill.
    • They ensure that all mechanical equipment and systems are properly maintained, repaired, and operated to maximize mill efficiency, safety, and reliability.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the mechanical maintenance team during the assigned shift, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
    • Maintenance Planning: Plan, schedule, and prioritize mechanical maintenance activities, including routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls, to ensure minimal disruption to mill operations.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all mechanical equipment and systems in the rolling mill are properly maintained, repaired, and operated, including:
      • Rolling mill stands
      • Gearboxes
      • Motors
      • Pumps
      • Hydraulic systems
      • Cooling systems
    • Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical maintenance activities are performed in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to relevant safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc Degree with 3-8 years experience.

    Mining Engineer - Trainee

    Responsibilities
    Our successful candidates will in this role, be responsible for the following:

    • Coordinate the operation of mining activities as per the Mines plan in a safe and efficient manner,
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Section Head, Mines from time to time.
    • Upkeep of statutory records
    • Assit in coordination of blasting activities in a safe manner.
    • Mine planning and information system.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree, B.Eng / HND in Mining or other related field.
    • Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year relevant experience in the operation of mechanized Mines.
    • Must be proficient with MS Office.
    • Good communication skills, with the ability to work in a team.
    • Candidates living in close proximity to Kaduna State and its environs are preferred.
    • Must be available to resume immediately.

    Fire Messenger

    Job Summary

    • The Fire Messenger plays a critical role in supporting the firefighting department by delivering urgent messages, reports, and documents between fire stations, operational temas, and stakeholders.
    • This position ensures that all communications and materials are delivered promptly and securely, particularly during emergencies.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Perform general clerical duties, such as filing, photocopying, and sorting documents as needed.
    • Assist in Combating & Extinguishes fires.
    • Assist in executing rescues and riving victims in emergencies.
    • Collaborate with team members to prioritize deliveries during emergency situations.
    • Assist in the coordination of comunication during emergencies by ensuring swift delivery of critical information.
    • Deliver time-sensitive messages, reports and documents to and from fire stations, emergency sites and administrative offices.
    • Support operational logistics, including the transportation of small equipments or supplies if required.

    Requirements

    • Candidates should possess an SSCE/NCE/OND.
    • Fire Training certificate from recognized Fire Training Institute of Nigeria
    • Familiarity with the operations and structure of firefighting departments is an advantage.
    • Minimum 3 years experience in a large manufacturing industry which has fire protection system including external fire-hydrant system, sprinkler system, foam spray system and firefighting trucks.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks in emergency situations.

    Fire Brachman

    Job Summary

    • The fire brachman plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operations of the firefighting department by monitoring safety systems, coordinating reponses, and assisting in fire prevention and emergency operations.
    • This role requires vigilance, quick decision-making, and effective communication to support fire safety and firefighting activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor and maintain fire safety systems and equipments within the department.
    • Act as the primary contact for fire-related alerts and emergencies, ensuring quick communication between teams.
    • Assist in preparation and maintenance of firefighting tools and equipments.
    • Conduct routine checks on fire extinguishers, alarms, and other safety devices to ensure functionality.
    • Support fire prevention activities, including inspections and drills.
    • Respond promptly to fire incidents, assisting in containment and rescue operations as needed.
    • Document and report incidents, inspections and maintenance activiyies accurately.
    • Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and departmental policies.
    • Collaborate with fire safety officers and firefighters to providfe logistical support during emergencies.

    Qualification

    • B.Eng / HND in Engineering or other related fields.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years experience.
    • Prior experience in a fire department is an advantage
    • Certification in fire safety systems.
    • Physically fit and able to perform duties involving manual labor.
    • Willigness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
