    SVN National Project Development and Reporting Officer

    Job Description

    • Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programme and Innovation Unit  and direct supervision of the National Project Officer (PGLS), and in collaboration with relevant units at Headquarters and the Administrative Centres, the National Project Development and Reporting Officer will be responsible and accountable for supporting the coordination and facilitation of project development, donor and institutional reporting related to IOM programme and project activities, in line with IOM’s regional and country strategies.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the preparation of results-based programmes and projects, including concept notes and project proposals, by compiling inputs, drafting sections, and supporting coordination with internal stakeholders under the guidance of the supervisor.
    • Support the review and consolidation of basic resource requirements and programme information by collecting data on needs, gaps, and opportunities, and assisting with alignment to IOM global, regional, and country strategies, including the use of the Strategic Results Framework (SRF).
    • Provide support to the endorsement and clearance processes for concept notes and project proposals, and assist Project Managers in the preparation and compilation of donor reports in coordination with relevant units in the Country Office and Regional Office, in line with established procedures.
    • Assist in researching potential funding opportunities by monitoring calls for proposals, compiling donor-related information, and supporting the preparation of donor profiles and reference materials, under supervision.
    • Support the maintenance of working-level contacts with donors and project partners by facilitating communication, preparing briefing materials, and assisting in coordination with relevant stakeholders, as required.
    • Contribute to the drafting and compilation of visibility and basic resource mobilization materials, and assist in the logistical organization of donor briefings and visits, in coordination with relevant units.
    • Assist in the logistical organization and coordination of capacity-building and training activities related to programme development and donor and institutional reporting, including workshops and information-sharing sessions, as guided by the supervisor.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and filing systems for correspondence, project development documentation, and donor and institutional reporting files using IOM’s relevant information management systems.
    • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
    • Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.

    Experience:

    • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
    • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
    • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

    Skills:

    • Knowledge of migration-related subject areas dealt with by the organisation. 
    • Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming. 
    • Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
    • Good communication, writing and organizational skills; ability to prepare clear and concise reports. 
    • Capacity and ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
    • Ability to work with accuracy under constraints and pressure; high sense of confidentiality, initiative and good judgment.
    • Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, creative thinking.
    • Good level of computer literacy, including database applications.

    SVN National Project Support Officer, NoA

    Job Description

    • Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of the National Programme Support Officer, in collaboration with relevant units at Headquarters and the Administrative Centres, the National Project Support Officer  will be responsible and accountable for supporting the coordination and facilitation of project development, donor and institutional reporting of IOM Programme and project activities to donors, government, UN agencies and other relevant stakeholders in line with IOM’s regional and country strategies.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the coordination and monitoring of the operational, programmatic administrative and financial aspects of the projects in accordance with IOM policies and practices as well as donor’s requirements.
    • Keep the supervisor informed on the status of project implementation; identify gaps and opportunities and suggest actions to improve implementation. 
    • Participate in the development and adjustment of work plans, programmatic analysis and situational picture exercise, project budgets, Monitoring & Evaluation tools and standard operations procedures. 
    • Coordinate the collection, verification and analysis of data and background information; update information management systems and social media platforms on project related activities including project awareness and visibility, summaries, press releases and other relevant materials.
    • Coordinate timely preparation and dissemination of project reports in accordance with IOM procedures and donor requirements. 
    • Liaise and coordinate with donors, partners, United Nations agencies, local authorities, government counterparts.
    • Contribute to the planning, development, organization and delivery of capacity building activities in the field of programme development, donor and institutional reporting targeting IOM staff, government and civil society partners, implementing partners and communities.   
    • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, working groups, interagency coordination meetings, and other forums.
    • Participate in the preparation of project proposals and a diverse range of communication and resource mobilisation products, concept notes and other planning documents in close coordination with the CoM, Project Managers, UNCT, relevant donors, government counterparts and project partners, by providing technical support
    • Supervise and provide training and technical guidance to project staff.
    • Undertake duty travel relating to project implementation, monitoring visits, project assessments, liaison with counterparts, etc. 
    • Perform other related duties as required.
