    Server L3 Windows Engineer

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Server L3 Windows Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of our Windows server environment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
    • This role requires in-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems and experience with troubleshooting server-related issues at a Level 3 (L3) capacity.

    Responsibilities
    Server Administration:

    • Manage and maintain Windows servers, ensuring system uptime, security, and performance.
    • Perform routine server maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and backups.
    • Configure and deploy server hardware and software as needed.

    Troubleshooting and Support:

    • Provide Level 3 (L3) support for Windows server issues, resolving escalated incidents that require specialized technical expertise.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot server performance issues, connectivity problems, and configuration errors.
    • Work with Level 1/2 support teams to ensure effective handover and escalation of issues when necessary.

    Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Continuously monitor Windows server performance and health, utilizing monitoring tools to identify potential issues proactively.
    • Conduct performance tuning and optimization to ensure server efficiency and reliability.
    • Implement and maintain server documentation, including configurations and troubleshooting procedures.

    Security and Compliance:

    • Ensure all Windows servers meet security standards, applying patches and updates to address vulnerabilities.
    • Conduct regular security audits, backups, and restore testing to maintain data integrity and compliance with IT policies.
    • Collaborate with the security team to implement best practices and policies.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with other IT teams, such as network, storage, and application support, to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
    • Communicate effectively with end-users and stakeholders, providing updates on server health and maintenance schedules.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Windows server administration, with at least 2-5 years in an L3 support role.
    • Certifications: Microsoft certifications (such as MCSA, MCSE) are a plus.

    Skills and Competencies:
    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Windows Server OS (2012, 2016, 2019, or newer).
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with server monitoring tools.
    • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows server functions.
    • Familiarity with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.

    Soft Skills:
