    Hotel Cost Accountant

    Responsibilities
    Cost Analysis and Control:

    • Analyze expenses to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
    • Review financial transactions and provide recommendations.
    • Track and manage costs associated with different departments, services, and products within the hotel.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in developing and maintaining budgets.
    • Prepare variance reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs.
    • Analyze historical data to forecast future costs.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare financial reports and statements for management.
    • Organize internal and external financial reports.

    Cost Allocation:

    • Allocate costs to different departments, services, or products to understand the cost structure.

    Data Analysis:

    • Analyze data on purchased goods and services to ensure cost-effectiveness.

    Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, such as GAAP or IFRS.
    • Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
    • Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
    • Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
    • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
    • Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.
    • Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.
    • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
    • Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
    • Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
    • Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
    • Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (essential).
    • International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) accreditation (essential).
    • Certified public accountant (CPA) license (essential).
    • 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience (essential).
    • Sound understanding of accounting principles.
    • Solid cost systems background.
    • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent report-writing, communication, and IT skills.
    • USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for Lodging) expertise is also important.

    Hotel Front Office Manager

    Job Summary

    • As the Guest Services Manager, you will oversee the front desk operations, lead the front desk team, and ensure exceptional customer service.
    • Manage room inventory, maximize occupancy, and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.

    Job Responsibilities
    Front Desk Operations:

    • Supervise front desk staff, providing guidance and feedback.
    • Monitor front desk activities, ensuring efficient check-ins, check-outs, and room assignments.

    Team Management:

    • Recruit, train, and develop front desk staff.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and address performance issues.

    Room Inventory Management:

    • Manage room inventory, maximizing occupancy and revenue.
    • Monitor room availability, making adjustments as needed.

    Guest Satisfaction:

    • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction, resolving complaints and concerns.
    • Implement initiatives to improve guest satisfaction and loyalty.

    Revenue Management:

    • Analyze occupancy, rate, and revenue trends.
    • Make recommendations to optimize revenue and occupancy.

    Communication:

    • Liaise with other departments (e.g., housekeeping, F&B) to ensure seamless service.
    • Communicate with guests, provide information and resolve issues.

    Administrative Tasks:

    • Prepare reports, analyze data, and maintain accurate records.
    • Update hotel software and systems as required.
