We are seeking an Operations and Strategy Lead for a transformative termed contract role.
The Opportunity
We are a premium confectionery and chocolate company building a category-defining brand from Nigeria to the world.
This role is for a high-performing operator who can take a fast-growing but founder-led business and turn it into a structured, efficient, and scalable company.
The Founder will focus on brand, marketing, and growth.You will take full ownership of execution, operations, systems, and team performance.
Core Mission (12 Months)
Within 12 months, you will:
- Build and implement structured systems across the business
- Stabilise daily operations across production and order fulfilment
- Lead and elevate a growing team
- Prepare the business operationally for scale
Key Responsibilities
Operations Ownership
- Oversee end-to-end operations across:
- Production (pastry and chocolate)
- Order management and fulfilment
- Customer experience
- Ensure smooth, efficient daily execution without founder dependence
- Ensure the business is fully ready to scale into retail
Systems & Process Development
- Design and implement:
- SOPs across all operational areas
- Clear workflows and accountability structures
- Introduce systems for:
- Inventory management
- Production planning
- Order tracking
- Performance management
- Other departments as may be required
Team Leadership & Structure
- Lead, manage, and develop a growing team
- Build a strong internal structure with clear roles and reporting lines
- Drive accountability, discipline, and performance
Financial & Operational Efficiency
- Monitor and improve:
- Cost of production
- Waste reduction
- Pricing efficiency
- Margins
- Ensure the business runs profitably and sustainably
Supply Chain & Inventory
- Oversee sourcing of ingredients and materials
- Manage vendor relationships
- Ensure elimination of stockouts, overstocking, and inefficiencies
Customer Experience & Brand Standards
- Ensure consistent premium quality across:
- Products
- Packaging
- Customer service
Reporting & Founder Alignment
- Provide weekly performance reports and insights
- Act as the Founder’s operational partner and execution lead
Who we are looking for:
- A builder, not just a manager
- Someone who has created structure where none existed
- Comfortable taking full ownership of outcomes
- Able to lead people while also fixing systems
Requirements
- A degree in Business, Hospitality, Operations or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with strong, proven operational experience are strongly encouraged to apply
- At least 4 years experience in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Retail operations, or a fast-paced startup environment.
- Proven ability to build or improve operational systems, manage and lead teams, and drive performance and efficiency

- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Highly Beneficial
- Experience running or scaling a bakery, café, restaurant, or food brand
