Hospital Accountant at Cypresshill Hospital

Accountant who will manage the financial operations of a healthcare facility, including patient billing, insurance claims, payroll, vendor payments, and regulatory tax compliance. They ensure accurate financial reporting (IFRS), maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations, and optimize cash flow, often using specialized ERP systems (e.g., PiPO HRIS, 4). 

Key Responsibilities

• Billing & Revenue Cycle: Supervise patient billing, insurance claim processing, and follow-ups to ensure timely payments.
• Financial Reporting & Control: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, bank reconciliations, and manage budgetary control.
• Payroll Management: Calculate and process salaries, incentives, and taxes for medical and administrative staff.
• Tax & Statutory Compliance: File taxes and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including VAT and payroll taxes.
• Cost Management: Monitor departmental expenses and implement cost-saving measures. 

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 4yrs experience as a hospital or diagnostic centre accountant
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (e.g., B.Com).
• Certification: ICAN, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a hospital or medical environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (e.g., Sage), and accounting software (QuickBooks).
• Competencies: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models.
