    Surveyor (Design Vetting)

    Role Overview

    • The Surveyor is responsible for reviewing, validating, and ensuring the accuracy of survey designs and plans for oil and gas pipeline projects.
    • This role ensures that survey methodologies, data, and designs comply with technical standards, project requirements, and industry best practices.
    • The engineer collaborates with project teams to optimize survey processes and mitigate risks related to design errors.

    Key Responsibilities
    Survey Design Review and Validation:

    • Vet survey designs, drawings, and related documentation for compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
    • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of survey data, including topographic, geotechnical, and geospatial information.
    • Identify inconsistencies, errors, or omissions in survey data and recommend corrective actions.

    Technical Support:

    • Provide expertise on survey methodologies, tools, and technologies used in pipeline routing, alignment, and construction.
    • Advise on the application of GIS, GPS, and other geospatial tools for survey activities.
    • Support the project team in resolving technical issues related to survey data and design.

    Collaboration with Stakeholders:

    • Coordinate with survey contractors, design consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on survey objectives and methodologies.
    • Conduct technical discussions and provide inputs to ensure survey designs meet project goals.

    Compliance and Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure survey activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and environmental guidelines.
    • Conduct quality assurance reviews of survey deliverables.

    Risk Management and Optimization:

    • Identify risks related to survey design and propose mitigation strategies.
    • Optimize survey processes to improve efficiency and reduce project timelines.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain documentation related to survey design vetting, including review reports, checklists, and recommendations.
    • Present findings and recommendations to the project management team and stakeholders.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field.
    • Master’s degree or specialized certification in Surveying or Geospatial Sciences is a plus.

    Experience:

    • 7+ years of experience in survey design, validation, and vetting for large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
    • Proven track record in managing survey-related activities for pipeline projects.

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in survey tools and technologies, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS software, and GPS systems.
    • Familiarity with international codes and standards for pipeline design and construction.
    • Strong understanding of topographic, geotechnical, and environmental considerations in pipeline projects.

    Soft Skills:

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Additional Requirements:

    Project Cost Control Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Project Cost Control Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of a project to ensure it is completed within the approved budget.
    • This role involves tracking project costs, preparing detailed cost reports, forecasting future expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing strategic guidance to project teams to maintain financial control and achieve project objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Develop and manage detailed project budgets, ensuring alignment with project scope and objectives. Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to develop accurate cost estimates.
    • Cost Tracking & Monitoring: Continuously monitor and track project costs, including labor, materials, and overheads. Ensure expenses remain within the approved budget by identifying and addressing discrepancies in real time.
    • Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports that outline actual costs vs. budgeted costs, providing detailed analysis and recommendations to senior management for corrective actions as needed. Update project forecasts and cash flows to reflect changes in scope or timelines.
    • Variance Analysis: Identify cost overruns and perform detailed variance analysis to determine the root causes. Proactively implement corrective actions to bring costs back within budget.
    • Cost Control Procedures: Develop and implement cost control procedures and best practices to manage project budgets effectively. Ensure all team members follow established financial protocols and contribute to cost management efforts.
    • Risk Management: Assess potential cost risks and provide recommendations to mitigate financial risks, including delays, scope changes, or resource shortages.
    • Collaboration & Communication: Act as a liaison between the finance team, project managers, procurement, and other departments to ensure smooth communication and transparency regarding project financials.
    • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all cost-related activities. Maintain compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and contractual obligations.
    • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to cost control systems and processes, including the use of software tools for tracking and reporting costs more effectively.

    Required Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Cost Engineering (e.g., AACE) is a plus.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project cost control, financial management, or project management in a similar industry. Experience in [specific industry, e.g., construction, IT, manufacturing] is highly desirable.
    • Technical Skills: Proficient in cost control software (e.g., MS Project, SAP, Primavera P6, or similar), advanced Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities and minimizing financial risks.

    Lead Process Engineer (Design Vetting)

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Process Design & Vetting Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an oil and gas pipeline project.
    • The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in process design, engineering, and project execution for oil and gas infrastructure projects.
    • You will play a critical role in ensuring the technical integrity, safety, and efficiency of process designs while meeting client and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Process Design and Review:
      • Lead the development, review, and approval of process design documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, heat and material balances, and equipment sizing calculations.
      • Evaluate and vet process design deliverables from contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and best practices.
    • Technical Oversight:
      • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team during the design, phase of the pipeline project.
      • Ensure alignment of process designs with project objectives, client expectations, and industry standards.
    • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
      • Conduct HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other safety reviews, ensuring all identified risks are adequately addressed and mitigated.

    • Certifications:Professional Engineering (PE) certification or equivalent is a plus.
    • Technical Skills:Proficiency in process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS, HTRI, or equivalent. Strong understanding of international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
    • Soft Skills:Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
