    Project Accountant (Lagos and Port Harcourt)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring they align with corporate financial goals and accurately forecast costs and revenues.
    • Track project expenditures and ensure they remain within the approved budget, investigating any variances.
    • Implement cost-control measures to optimize project efficiency and financial performance.
    • Prepare and present regular financial reports, including budget performance, cost analysis, cash flow forecasts, and variance reports to stakeholders and senior management.
    • Ensure the accurate allocation of project costs across various cost centers and projects using appropriate accounting methods and standards.
    • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure project-related purchases are recorded accurately and invoices are processed in a timely manner.
    • Track and report on capital expenditures (CAPEX) associated with projects, ensuring they remain within approved limits.
    • Assist project managers in preparing cost estimates for new projects or project extensions, ensuring estimates are realistic and based on sound financial principles.
    • Monitor project cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity to meet obligations and provide timely cash flow forecasts to senior management.
    • Conduct financial analysis and perform scenario planning to assess the potential impact of project decisions and recommend solutions to improve project financial performance.
    • Ensure proper accounting and financial management of joint venture (JV) projects, including cost recovery and partner reporting.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with internal controls, governance frameworks, and industry regulations.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, financial planning, and budgeting, preferably in the upstream oil and gas sector.
    • Relevant professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
    • Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control.
    • Familiarity with joint venture accounting, cost recovery, and financial management in oil & gas operations.
    • Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis tools.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and identify cost drivers.
    • Knowledge of accounting standards such as GAAP, IFRS, etc.
    • Strong ethical principles and commitment to maintaining financial transparency and integrity.

    Project Engineer – Civil and Mechanical (Lagos and Port Harcout)

    Our client is seeking to hire a project engineer who will provide field supervisory support for civil and mechanical projects within the development plan and energy portfolio. This role, with positions available in Lagos and Port Harcourt, will focus on managing facilities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and contributing to engineering activities for both onshore and offshore projects.

    Well Engineer - Lagos & Port Harcourt

    Job Purpose: 

    Our client, one of Africa’s leading independent E&P players with a diverse portfolio of eight (8) oil and gas assets in prolific basins across Africa is seeking a Well Engineer to play a critical role in driving the success of drilling operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for adequate planning, efficient execution, and optimization of well projects while ensuring compliance with HSE standards and industry best practices.    

    Key Responsibilities:

    Well Planning & Engineering: 

    • Design and prepare well engineering plans, including casing design, material selection, and well trajectory optimization. 
    • Define rig selection criteria and requirements.  
    • Collaborate with subsurface teams to integrate well designs with reservoir objectives. 
    • Produce well designs, cost/risk analyses, and AFE preparation  

    Drilling Operations & Execution: 

    • Manage the Well Delivery Process (WDP) and Project Maturation Process (PMP). 
    • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, regulations, and environmental standards.  
    • Provide technical input on well construction, completions, interventions, and abandonment.  
    • Work closely with drilling teams to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

     
    Technical & Compliance Management: 

    • Oversee drilling management systems including benchmarking, reporting, and lessons learned.  
    • Support commercial and procurement teams with technical insights. 
    • Ensure all operations align with local, national, and international standards  
    • Liaise with government bodies, partners, and community representatives as required.   

    Job Qualifications & Experience: 

    • Must have a BSc degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering. 
    • Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of well engineering experience.
    • Experience in onshore and offshore drilling operations.  
    • Competency in at least two of the following:  Conventional rotary drilling,  Horizontal/multilateral wells ,Pad drilling ,Coiled tubing drilling, Underbalanced or managed pressure drilling  
    • Experience in managing an IOC or NOC drilling team in the Niger Delta.
    • Strong background in stuck pipe avoidance, well control, and risk management.
    • Well Control Certification is an added advantage.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    Coating Specialist

    JOB SUMMARY

    The candidate is responsible for supervision and inspection of the coating activities within the Project. Shall ensure that project activities comply with COMPANY rules & project procedures.

    CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

    • Ubeta Project is a pre-FID (Final Investment Decision) Engineering, Procurement, Construction, installation and commissioning of UBETA Wellpad to Obite treatment centre by 11km pipeline, HV power, and Fibre optics cable.
    • The project is situated on OML58 near Port-Harcourt in Nigeria (onshore)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review and approve the coating procedures and Operators in liaise with the CTR’s level 3
    • Monitoring of coating subcontractor and Contractor operators’ qualification and performance.
    • Ensure that technicians have valid qualifications for the work they are undertaking
    • Monitor performance of Production Tests in terms of quality and frequency, ensuring conformity with relevant specifications and codes
    • Supervise and witness inspections, check reports and documentation issued by inspectors and verify the collection of required Quality Records
    • Ensure that Contractor maintains accurate coating records throughout the contractual period
    • Ensure timely delivery of coating documents to enable the construction processes to progress, with the objective to reduce costs without impacting the schedule or the required level of quality and safety.
    • Keep, monitor and follow up as necessary and maintain complete record(s) concerning the execution of the works.
    • Ensure that all statutory authority / permits / design approvals are available onsite for construction.
    • Determine the actions required to manage each work instruction
    • Review contents of CONTRACTOR Quality Control and Inspection procedures including ITP(s)
    • Supervise COMPANY Hold/ Monitor/Witness/Review inspection activities
    • Organize and attend coating audits.
    • Monitor the External audit findings & remarks, and any other reported Quality problems, through periodic meetings with Contractors.
    • Review the corrective actions proposed by the contractor, respond / follow ups and close out procedure
    • Support and enforce the COMPANY HSEQ charters, objectives, directives.
    • Identify potential safety concerns and inform the contractor(s).
    • Identify the critical activities and bottleneck for the progress of the construction. Anticipate; propose solutions to improve quality.
    • Troubleshoot technical problems that may affect the construction and liaise with the QA/QC Lead for the resolution.
    • Support all team members and propose alternative courses of action, wherever possible, to facilitate efficient Project progress
    • Participate in regular meetings to keep abreast with all issues relating to the Project. Discuss and review opportunities for the optimization of assigned work programs
    • Carry out any other duties as may be required by hierarchy and project management.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Professional Experience in similar position (number of years): 10
    • Experience within Oil & Gas project: (number of years): 10
    • FROSIO or NACE Level 3 certified coating Inspector with verifiable experience in FBE and 3LPE coating.
    • Good knowledge in construction codes and international standards used in O&G industry
    • Must have integrity, be flexible and proactive
    • Must demonstrate ability to act independently as part of a team
    • Good communication skills. Good team player, able to communicate effectively with colleague
    • Proficiency with Microsoft applications
