    Program Officer

    This position carries responsibilities for developing and overseeing on a day to day basis the content and activities of our endeavour to “be a catalyst that elevates the profile and influence of women in management and business”.
    The successful candidate will be committed to a transparent working style with a good ethical framework and open communication. She will have experience of working on alone as well as within a team, in a highly pressured and fast paced environment; good writing skills, liaising with multiple partners within the sub-region, managing relationships, partners and statutory institutions.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Identifying potential partnerships with organizations
    • Prepare and present as necessary all program documents, including annual work plans, budgets, financial progress reports, etc
    • Produce first class program and funding proposals for WIMBIZ activities
    • Fundraise for financial resources both local and externally to implement WIMBIZ programs
    • Produce an annual timetable of all activities being planned
    • Organize, coordinate, monitor and effectively and efficiently manage WIMBIZ programs and activities
    • Facilitate update of the website on a regular basis, by seeking contributions from partners and proactively seeking new links, information and resources to include on the website
    • Assist in the preparation and design of internal and external WIMBIZ communication materials including the Annual Report, and other organisational materials such as brochures, leaflets, etc
    • Assist with the coordination and development of donors, partners and contacts list and databases and update the information regularly
    • Write and edit articles, materials, press releases, concept notes for publication in newsletters and online bulletins
    • Maintain and expand the WIMBIZ network in the gender empowerment and development and business community
    • Actively participate in all operational and program staff meetings
    • Work within and support WIMBIZ’s policies and procedures.

    Qualification/ Requirements

    • University degree in international relations, political science, business or public administration or related discipline. A Masters Degree any of these fields will be an advantage
    • At least 3 years’ experience working for a national/international NGO or development agency

    • Ability to easily adapt to changing organisational needs, shifting priorities and a fast-paced work environment
    • Strong project management, organisational, time management and planning skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • High standard of computer competency and literacy
    • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects at one time
    • Ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters and to demonstrate sound judgement in consulting with and keeping others informed.
    • Ability to understand and communicate effectively to diverse audiences and understand their respective needs
    • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and external contacts; sensitive to cultural differences

    Intern - Analyst

    The data analyst intern will work directly with the Monitoring & Evaluation, Research and Programs departments to ensure that data is translated into information, information into insight and insight into decisions that promote the WIMBIZ vision.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
    • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
    • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
    • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
    • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
    • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
    • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
    • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
    • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics

    Intern - Accounts

    The Accounting Intern will directly assist the Finance Team with a wide range of projects related
    to expense report auditing, account reconciliation, revenue processing, and grant accounting.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Help with month-end financial reports
    • Post journal entries
    • Assist with audits
    • Help with bank statements reconciliation, as well as accounts payable and receivable
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliation
    • Assist with the preparation of ad hoc and other internal reports
    • Ensure the completion of assigned tasks in line with established deadline
    • Assist with inventories and reconciliations
    • Support the payment processing team
    • Do data entry and credit checks
    • Run bank errands
    • Work with the Admin department

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • BSc in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting
    • Strong technical and organisational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment.
    • A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
