    Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Legal Officer

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • S/he will adhere to Gender-Based Violence (GBV)  guiding principles to ensure the safety of the survivor and their children; respect the confidentiality of the information provided by Gender-Based Violence (GBV) survivors
    • Conduct interviews in private settings and maintain a non-judgmental manner and respect the survivor’s decision.
    • S/he will provide legal counseling for GBV survivors regarding potential avenues of legal response; respect the right to be informed on the details of the legal procedures, including available options, time frame, and the consequences.
    • S/he will provide and facilitate legal access to all GBV survivors who opt for legal action including accompanying and escorting GBV survivors to the Police station and Court whenever requested by ensuring GBV survivors and witnesses summoned to court attend court sessions;  
    • S/he will respect the right to legal aid, including the right to refuse legal aid at any time prior or -depending on the type of the crime committed- during the legal process.
    • S/he will coordinate with the Prosecutor, pre-court legal counseling, and preparation support to GBV survivors, witnesses, and medical experts before court sessions
    • S/he will continually update the GBV officer about the survivors’ case and link the survivor with the caseworker for ongoing psychosocial support or referral to additional services.
    • S/he will monitor the GBV survivor’s overall security risk as a result of pursuing legal action and also ensure the survivor is protected against any risks of further offense that the alleged offender may cause and also ensures that security concerns of the survivors are met.
    • S/he in collaboration with the GBV Team to monitor the situation of the survivor even after the finalization of legal proceedings to prevent retaliation or secondary victimization at the hands of the perpetrator, as well as to address stigmatization by the community.
    • S/he will be conducting legal information dissemination for both the facilities and at the community level to increase awareness in preventing and responding to GBV incidents.
    • S/he will assist in the preparation and submission of timely weekly, and monthly quality reports and donor reports as per the donor requirements.
    • S/he will support and work closely with the GBV Team on program data collection.
    • S/he will assist in following up on cases with law enforcement bodies to ensure that the rights of the survivor are promoted and protected throughout the legal process.
    • S/he will participate in coordination meetings with Legal actors so as to smoothen the process of access to legal justice for GBV survivors.

    Qualifications:

    • Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (L.LB and B.L)
    • Must possess a second-class upper (2.1) /Upper credit or above
    • Additional professional certifications or postgraduate qualification is an added advantage

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in a private law firm or in the field of law.
    • Very strong report-writing skills.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Ability to work long hours when needed.
    • Strong analytical and research skills.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Technology suave i.e. ability to use social media handles, the internet send email, etc.

    Program Officer

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • S/he will support the state program to achieve milestones in UNAIDS 95’95’95’ HIV/AIDS goal
    • S/he will support the preparation for, and implementation of activities, including communicating with CBOs and stakeholders
    • S/he will maintain timelines and documentation of program activities
    • S/he will support to develop and deliver minutes, reports and presentations
    • S/he will aassist in development of project plans and determine strategies needed to meet the requirements
    • S/he will assist in the preparation and planning of activities and meetings/trainings
    • S/he will assist in the review and approval of CBOs reports and requests
    • S/he will attend/monitor CBOs activities and provide constructive feedback where necessary
    • S/he will assist to maintain an updated referral database and referral directory for all service areas
    • S/he will support the strengthening of CBOs capacity to implement result based interventions
    • S/he will assist in tracking and documentation of stories of change/elicit project documentaries as they occur
    • S/he will carryout any other responsibilities assigned relevant to the position

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • A graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Higher National Diploma or its equivalent, who has completed NYSC (or has a written exemption letter) with a First or Second Class Upper Division (2.1) or HND Upper Credits.
    • Additional professional certifications in Accounting or its equivalent will be an added advantage.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • An Accounting background is an added advantage
    • Must have a minimum of 1 to 2 years post-NYSC experience in a reputable Organization in a similar role.
    • Strong computer skills, with knowledge of relevant publishing software such as but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
    • Extremely strong in written and oral English language with research writing skills.
    • Superior oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on creative approaches, attention to detail, and efficient delivery methods.

    EXPENSES

    • WEWE Assistants are not eligible for salaries and employee benefits. However, a daily rate of N4, 000 naira per day would be paid to cover transportation costs to and from the office subject to statutory deductions.

    Communication Officer

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • S/he will identify effective communication of project success by developing success stories, case studies, and short documentaries.
    • S/he will update and maintain WEWE’s website, social media platforms, and blogs.
    • S/he will engage with mainstream media (Electronic and Print) to increase WEWE’s visibility and promote project impact.
    • S/he will edit technical and scientific documents and articles (proofreading, copying, designing, line editing, and substantive editing).
    • S/he will desktop design and layout of technical documents in compliance with donor branding and marking requirements.
    • S/he will coordinate staff meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes of meetings as required.
    • S/he will take the lead in developing an online communication campaign strategy using social media, blog, Twitter (X), YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn for fundraising
    • Perform other functions assigned by the supervisor

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • A graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma or its equivalent, who has completed NYSC (or has a written exemption letter) with a First or Second Class Upper Division (2.1) in English, Linguistics, mass communication, journalism, or any social science-related fields.
    • Additional certifications in communication or its equivalent will be an added advantage.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have a minimum of 1 to 2 years post-NYSC experience in a reputable Organization in a similar role.
    • Extremely strong computer skills, with knowledge of relevant publishing software such as but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Desktop Publishing (Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, PDF, Illustrator, InDesign – CorelDraw).
    • Experience in Media Production and social Media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Whatsapp, Mail chimp, Google Forms, and Instagram), extremely strong in written and oral English language with research writing skills.
    • Superior oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on creative approaches, attention to detail, and efficient delivery methods.
    • Experience in Live video and audio streaming
