MyJobMag Earns Its Second Career Website of the Year Award

For the second year in a row, MyJobMag has been named Career & Employment Website of the Year at the Nigeria Technology Awards 2025.

What changed between 2024 and 2025

After the 2024 award, we took a hard look at how people were searching for jobs and where they were struggling the most. One thing became clear. Many job seekers were applying to relevant roles but were not being shortlisted, even when they had the right experience. We saw that the problem was not qualification, but alignment. That insight shaped much of what we built between 2024 and 2025.

New systems and product improvements

Over the past year, we invested more heavily in AI-powered tools designed to support job seekers at the most critical stage. One of those tools is the CV Pilot. This feature allows job seekers to tailor their CVs to a specific job vacancy. By analysing a job description, the tool generates a personalised CV and a matching cover letter that reflect the language, skills, and expectations of the role.

Alongside this, we launched the MyJobMag Job Description Matcher. This tool helps job seekers understand how well their CV matches a particular role before they apply. It highlights missing skills or keywords and shows where improvements can be made to increase the chances of being shortlisted. For many users, this has changed how they approach job applications. Rather than applying blindly, they now have clearer feedback on where they stand and what to improve.

Expansion to the UK

In 2025, we also took a major step forward by expanding MyJobMag to the United Kingdom. This move was driven by the same core mission that guides everything we build: helping people connect to the right opportunities.

New standards we now hold ourselves to

Winning the Career & Employment Website of the Year award again in 2025 means raising our own internal standards. We now evaluate every new feature by asking whether it truly solves a real problem. If a feature does not clearly improve the experience, it does not move forward.

The next big problems we’re focused on solving

Looking ahead, there is still a lot of work to do. We will further improve job matching for job seekers. At the same time, we are working on features to help employers identify the right candidates faster and filter out unqualified applicants.

Conclusion

Earning the Career & Employment Website of the Year award for the second consecutive year is both a milestone and a responsibility. The work is far from finished, and this recognition only strengthens our mission to connect 100,000 young Africans to sustainable jobs by 2025.
