    Structural Engineer

    Job Description

    • The primary responsibility is to design structures using 2D and 3D models and computer-aided design technology (e.g. AutoCAD).
    • To measure loads and pressures to secure structural soundness.
    • To collaborate with contractors and guiding construction workers onsite for the safety, durability of the structure as well designing and planning project details – and on-site to provide technical advice to construction workers.
    • To ensure stability, strength, rigidity and make sure the right materials are used for each project, whether it is a new-build, conversion or renovation.

    Responsibilities

    • Design structural components for large-scale projects, including analysing survey reports, topographical maps, zoning restrictions and client requirements to ensure specifications meet project goals
    • Review blueprints, plans and change orders to verify structural integrity of materials and designs, and perform complex calculations and use modelling methods to ensure correct results
    • Participate in initial planning and bidding processes, including reviewing environmental factors, government regulations, constructions costs and risk analysis reports to prepare comprehensive study on all relevant design factors
    • Research existing and new material technology to determine practical applications, strength and durability expectations and cost-benefits information, and prepare material recommendations for current and future projects
    • Create and present structural overviews for upcoming projects, and develop reports that include technical details for engineers as well as big-picture analysis and cost estimates for project managers and senior executives
    • Use AutoCAD and other drafting software programs to create 2D design documents and 3D models for individual components and overall structural plans according to client needs and project requirements for deliverables
    • Prepare documentation for clients covering project plans and progress, change orders, environmental impact findings, ownership transfers and other relevant information

    Requirements

    • The ideal candidate should either have a First Degree in Civil Engineering or other related disciplines.
    • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Good Knowledge of engineering science, maths, physics and building/construction materials.
    • Excellent project management and Design skill.
    • Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and work under pressure.
    • Strong planning, presentation, analytical skills and Keen attention to details.
    • Strong skill in MS Access, MS PowerPoint and MS excel and engineering software packages
    • Excellent verbal communication skill.

    Heavy Equipment Mechanical Engineer

    Job Brief

    • We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanical Engineer to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of Diesel Equipment in the Construction and Mining industries. You will be required to travel and handle equipment such as;
    • Earth Moving Equipment: Excavator, Loaders, Bull-Dozers Motor Graders, Wheeled Loader, Back-Hoe, Road-Rollers, Concrete Mixer, Paver, and Concrete Pumps.
    • Construction Vehicles & Material Handling Equipment: Articulated Dump Trucks, Man Diesel, Water Tanker, Tipper, Mobile Crane, Fork-Lift, Bob Cat (Road Sweeper), Loader, Excavator for trenches and more.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Drawing up schedule for regular maintenance.
    • Carry out electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
    • Maintenance of Diesel engines, diagnosing problems with machinery breaks down and deciding the best way to repair them.
    • Maintaining and managing stocks of supplies, parts and equipment
    • Carry out shop paperwork
    • Proficient with light and heavy equipment
    • Establish maintenance procedures, policies and managing maintenance budget
    • Keep record of maintenance and repair costs, incidents and procedures
    • Follow all laid down safety standards

    Job Requirements

    • B.Sc or HND in Mechanical Engineering
    • 2 to 5 years of experience with Diesel/Heavy Equipment repair in construction and Mining industries
    • Strong attention to detail, clean, organized and good with paperwork
    • Proficient with (Dos) Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Strong Analytical, Communication, Interpersonal, & Administrative Skills
    • Strong client relationship management skill.
    • Vast experience with Diesel Heavy Equipment repair and ability to use a tablet to run diagnostic tests and enter job information.
    • Driver’s licence.

    Architect

    Job Description

    • The primary responsibility is tocreate designs for construction projects, alterations and redevelopments. The use of construction knowledge and high-level drawing skills to design buildings that are functional, safe, sustainable and aesthetically pleasing, staying involved throughout the construction process, adapting plans according to budget constraints, environmental factors or client needs.
    • As such, operate as part of an overall project design team, working closely with a range of construction professionals from quantity surveyors to building services engineers.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop projects from early concept through design development, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
    • Consult with clients to determine their structure requirements, design and document commercial and industrial building projects
    • Coordinate preliminary architectural studies for structures and alterations to existing structures and site development and Work with teams across business lines, in remote locations, and coordinate with subcontractors
    • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions while Modifying  existing plans and elevations to fit client and sales needs
    • Create building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) applications
    • Liaise with construction professionals about the feasibility of potential projects and working around constraining factors such as town planning legislation, environmental impact and project budget.
    • Develop ideas keeping in mind client’s needs, building’s usage, environmental impact and producing detailed blueprints and to make necessary corrections.
    • Take the “brief” to identify clients’ needs and put together feasibility reports, design proposals, make on site visits to check on project status, report on project and ensure that all works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations.

    Requirements

    • First Degree in Architecture or other related disciplines.

    • Strong imagination and the ability to think, create in three dimensions and an eye for detail
    • knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
    • Communication and project management skills
    • Strong portfolio to prove artistic skills and drawing skills and familiarity with design software (Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, 3d Studio VIZ or similar).
