Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that the finance & accounting tasks are completed accurately and according to deadline schedule for the team.
• Ensure all source documents are readily collated, statutory remittances are made and ensure the filling of the organization’s statutory returns.
• Coordinate the collation of all vouchers and post accordingly in the accounting software.
• Monthly reconciling of all accounts with service providers.
• Supervise the crediting of Vendors, processing and posting of all transactions into their respective ledgers.
• Ensure all expenses are recorded and balanced daily.
• Raise & Review journal entries for appropriate supporting documentation, remarks, account and amount
• Supervise the preparation of all journal entries and monthly bank reconciliations statements.
• Responsible for accounts receivable activities; invoicing, statements, and reporting
• Raising invoices for clients for jobs done and ensuring prompt reconciliation of customers’ accounts.
• Ensure all GLs are promptly updated to aid preparation of monthly management account.
• Carry out all other routine duties as may be determined by the Finance Manager.
• Oversee and ensure internal audit standards are met.

Education and Job Experience Required

• A first Degree in Accounting or related field
• 5-7 years relevant work experience in accounting.
• Knowledge of SAGE or other ERP is required.
• Knowledge of management accounting is essential.
• Knowledge of IFRS rules, familiar with national and local tax law & regulations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting
• Must be resident in Port Harcourt.
• Must be a registered student of ICAN, ACCA etc
