Brief Job Description

• As a Caster Fitter at African Steel Mills, your role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of Continuous Caster Machine (CCM) equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for Maintenance of CCM equipments.
• Responsible for Maintenance and trouble shooting of the CCM panels.
• Responsible for proper maintenance of Auto Cutter, Auto Level Controller, pusher & Cooling Bed and other CCM equipments.
• Responsible for maintenance of foot roller & secondary nozzles.
• Responsible to write daily report in the section’s daily report book.
• Responsible to carry out troubleshooting and affect repairs on all types of CCM equipments.

Requirements

• Diploma / ITI in Electrical / Mechanical
• 6 - 8+ years experience in Steel Plants
• Experience in Continuous Caster Machine (CCM)

Job Description

• As a CCM Operator at African Steel Mills, your role is integral to ensuring the efficient operation of the Continuous Caster Machine (CCM) by overseeing ladle preparation and maintenance.
• Reporting to the Shift In-charge of the Caster department, you will be responsible for a range of tasks essential to maintaining ladle integrity, refractory life, and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Inspection of ladle lining condition after each heat.
• Responsible for Fixing of slide gate & ladle nozzles for Carrying heats from Furnaces and partial repairing of equipment’s. To maintain the Ladle refractory records on daily basis.
• To ensure 100% free opening of Ladle at CCM without lancing.
• To achieve ladle lining life and refractory life as per standard & maintain the record on daily basis.
• Responsible for proper cleaning of fix nozzle, slight gate, collector nozzle by lancing & cleaning of Slag from ladle in each heat after cast.

Description 

• Well knowledge about diagnosing and repairing any issues related to hydraulic systems.
• Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting components such as pumps, motors, valves, and hydraulic cylinders.
• Responsible to do activities/ progress as per maintenance criteria / parameters, instruction, training experience in line with PM, PI, on daily basis.
• Ensure timely execution of job with quality and identify the abnormality of equipment at the time.
• Responsible for day-by-day shift Logbook maintaining, Keeping records of detailed work during the shift.
• Reduce down time of all equipment’s to increase the equipment availability for better productivity.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an OND qualification with 4 - 8 years work experience.

Job Description

• Responsible for furnaces operation and maintenance.
• Maintaining the required temperature & pressure for rolling.
• Regulate the temperature of the furnace during breakdown to avoid billet sticking etc.
• Work in coordination with the repair team during furnace repair.
• Organising necessary refractory materials bricks, mortar, tools etc. for repair / patchwork in the furnace.
• Coordinating the operation of charging (pushing) and discharging (ejection).
• Inform any abnormality to the Shift In-charges
• Responsible for maintaining proper discipline with the contractor and his employee’s.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, HSE, PPE systems and procedures and to aim at Zero accident.
• Coordinate, set up and implement procedures and records confirming to ISO for Rolling Mill.
• Carry out any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an SSCE qualification with 4 - 5 years relevant work experience.

• Responsible for minor or routine maintenance and repair jobs.
• Respect the good housekeeping and keep all access areas clear at the transformer, control panel and substations.

• Carry out any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
