Treasury and Accounts Manager at Catilas Resources Limited

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos state
Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer
Supervises: Treasury and Internal Accounting Unit

Job Overview

• Oversees the treasury management in an effective and efficient manner, striking balance between risk and returns to create value for the Company - CORE COMPETENCE
• Coordinates the activities of the internal accounting unit to ensure that proper books of accounts are kept at all times

Responsibilities and Duties
Treasury Management:

• Understand, manage, and supervise all aspects of cash flow.
• Forecast daily cash requirements and execute daily financing decisions.
• Evaluate, develop and implement cash management systems to optimize efficiencies.
• Use forward-looking models and activity-based analysis to prepare and monitor company’s cash flow forecasts.
• Demonstrate understanding of Bonds & T-Bills Trading
• Conduct periodic liquidity stress testing and advise management on course of action.
• Manage all aspects of liquid assets investment portfolios.
• Manage short-term and long-term investment strategies.
• Enhance returns on liquidity assets within the Company’s risk appetite level.
• Review and recommend changes to the investment policies based on the market conditions.
• Interest rate risk management and development of risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage relationships with financial service providers.
• Monitor bank services and address quality issues.
• Conduct benchmark studies of banks and their services to evaluate whether it fits Client’s requirements.
• Evaluate alternative long-term borrowing strategies and make recommendations in accordance with the capital structure guidelines.
• Research macro-economic trends as well as industry events and interpreting the likely implications for the Company.

Internal Accounting:

• Maintain appropriate accounting procedures and processes.
• Ensure proper books of accounts are kept.
• Fixed Assets management and accounting.
• Prepayments and accruals management.
• Coordinates month-end books closure process.
• General Ledger monitoring and management.
• Support and participate in Client’s Strategic Plan activities.
• Motivate and lead the team members and provide helpful feedback.
• Perform other duties or responsibilities that may be reasonably required from time to time and in relation to services provided by the organization.

Others:

Requirements
Required Educational Qualification:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a numerate discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Economics.
• Relevant professional certifications such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is required.
• An MBA or relevant master’s degree will be an added advantage.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of financial markets, financial instruments and debt instruments.
• Good knowledge of investment portfolio strategy and banking.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Considerable knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Advanced analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced spreadsheet and modeling skills.
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities.
• Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.

Required Level of Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years experience in treasury management.
• Extensive experience in preparing cash forecasts and cash flow analyses.
• Experience in building complex financial models to evaluate various financial plans.
