    Technology Specialist II

    MAIN FUNCTIONS

    The Technology Specialist position is a senior plastics process technical professional that provides overall technology direction and guidance to Company’s Plastics Process Technology organization. They are experienced engineers and scientists that provide strategic, cross-functional and industry leadership that impacts identification of Plastics business opportunities, development of technology to address business needs, and application of new or existing technology to advance the general interest. The Technology Specialist is responsible for development and retention of knowledge leading to competitive advantage for Plastics production in their assigned area.

    TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    In addition to all Level 1 Tasks and Responsibilities, a Level 2 Technology Specialists will:

    • Create distinguishing technology and expertise to be applied to a portfolio of current and future assets and opportunities.
    • Identify global opportunities to enhance corporate bottom line, articulate technical / business challenges, and provide leadership to drive resolution.
    • Conduct internal IP development and external IP monitoring.
    • Provide internal technical consulting for Engineers working on complex studies.
    • Advise senior management on matters central to key business decisions.
    • Mentor technical professionals, particularly those in mid-career or beyond.
    • Identify and champion capture of new business opportunities through a combination of developing new technologies, adapting existing technologies in a novel way, and application of existing technologies.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous experience in a closely related position
    • PhD in Engineering required
    • Extensive knowledge of discipline
    • Read, write and speak fluent English
    • Influence corporate strategic direction in areas of expertise
    • Facilitate global collaboration across the organization
    • Develop integrated solutions and champion integration of results into broader business solutions
    • Manage external relationships
    • Understand and articulate technical challenges, identify opportunities and provide leadership to drive resolution
    • Guide the development of complex, multi-disciplinary concepts that solve business problems across the full life cycle

    Specific Requirements

    • Proven experience in automating workflows
    • Excellent data science and analytics skills
    • Knowledge of wells management processes
    • Prior legacy MPN experience
