Social Media Manager & Content Designer

    About the role

    • We are looking for a creative, organised Social Media Manager & Content Designer to help build a strong and consistent online presence for the Fasilat Alafe Foundation. This is a part-time, fully remote role with flexible hours. You will work with pre-designed templates and existing programme content to produce posts that communicate our impact simply and effectively.

    Key responsibilities

    • Create posts for Instagram (primary) and other platforms using existing design templates — including single-image posts, carousels, and Stories.
    • Turn project updates, reports, and data into simple, visual content that maintains consistency in brand colours, fonts, and style.
    • Develop weekly content plans and post consistently 3–5 times per week, balancing announcements, impact updates, educational content, and behind-the-scenes posts.
    • Respond to comments and messages, engage with similar organisations, and help build relationships with our audience.
    • Suggest ideas to improve reach and engagement; apply hashtags and trends appropriately.
    • Track key metrics (follower growth, engagement rate, post performance) and provide a simple weekly summary — what worked, what didn't, and suggestions for improvement.
    • Maintain organised, editable design files with clear naming conventions so all content can be easily reused and adapted.

    What we're looking for

    • Hands-on experience with Canva or Figma.
    • Basic copywriting skills with an ability to write clear, concise captions.
    • Good working knowledge of Instagram and other major social media platforms.
    • Ability to simplify information and communicate impact to a general audience.
    • Organised and self-directed — comfortable working independently in a remote setup.

    Nice to have

    • Prior experience working with an NGO, foundation, or social impact organisation.
    • Basic understanding of social media analytics.
    • Content strategy or editorial planning experience.
