    Pharmacist

    Role Description

     The Pharmacist will dispense prescription and over-the-counter medicines, verify medication orders, and counsel patients on the safe and effective use of their medications. Daily responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and clinical appropriateness, monitoring for drug interactions, and maintaining proper documentation in line with regulatory requirements. The role involves managing inventory, ensuring proper storage and cold chain compliance for sensitive products, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to prevent stockouts. The Pharmacist will also contribute to medication safety initiatives, support quality improvement activities, and provide excellent, respectful customer service in a busy community and hospital-support setting.

    Qualifications

    • Licensed Pharmacist with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).
    • Strong community pharmacy skills, including prescription review, medication therapy management, and knowledge of drug indications, contraindications, and side effects.
    • Experience with community pharmacy operations, including dispensing, patient counseling, and over-the-counter medication guidance.
    • Ability to manage inventory, ensure appropriate storage conditions (including cold chain products), and maintain accurate stock records.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to gender-neutral, non-discriminatory, and respectful patient interactions.
    • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
    • Prior experience in a similar pharmacy setting in Nigeria is preferred
