    Senior HR & Operations Manager

    We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven HR & Operations Manager for our client within the manufacturing sector who will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direct oversight of all human resources and operational support functions across plant and corporate operations. The ideal candidate will lead HR operations at a senior management level, ensure workforce stability in a production-driven environment, manage industrial relations, and oversee critical operational areas including HMO, travel, immigration, facilities management, and compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).

    KEY RESPONSIBILITES

    • Develop, implement, and oversee HR and operational strategies aligned with manufacturing objectives, production targets, and workforce efficiency goals.
    • Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, factory regulations, and industry standards in Ghana or Nigeria, as applicable.
    • Lead and manage disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and workplace investigations within a unionized or semi-unionized production environment.
    • Provide expert guidance on industrial relations matters, including negotiation, interpretation, and administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).
    • Partner with plant leadership to address workforce planning, shift management structures, absenteeism trends, and productivity challenges.
    • Oversee immigration processes for expatriate technical staff, ensuring timely work permits and regulatory compliance.
    • Head up employee benefits administration including HMO management, enrollment, renewals, claims resolution, and vendor performance monitoring.
    • Monitor workforce health trends in collaboration with HSE and plant management to reduce absenteeism and operational downtime.
    • Oversee corporate travel logistics for technical staff, plant leadership, and visiting contractors.
    • Direct facilities management across factory and office locations, ensuring optimal maintenance of production support infrastructure, utilities coordination, vendor management, and compliance with workplace safety standards.
    • Ensure proper documentation of employee records, incident reports, disciplinary cases, and compliance filings in line with data protection and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide strategic advisory support to executive leadership on workforce risks, compliance exposure, and operational improvement opportunities

    QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Law, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior HR role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
    • Strong experience managing unionized workforce and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).
    • Demonstrated expertise in handling complex disciplinary cases and workplace investigations in production settings.
    • Strong knowledge of labor laws, factory regulations, and employment compliance requirements in Ghana or Nigeria.
    • Experience supporting large, shift-based or plant-based workforce.
    • Proven experience in facilities and vendor management within an industrial environment.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Strong industrial relations and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to manage high-volume workforce operations in a fast-paced production environment.
    • Sound judgment in handling sensitive employee matters.
    • Strong analytical capability to interpret workforce data, absenteeism trends, and operational risk indicators.
    • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage plant managers, union representatives, regulators, and executive leadership.
    • Strong organizational and execution capability across multiple operational functions.
