Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver Food and Nutrition lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
Teach students the principles of nutrition, meal planning, food preparation, food safety, and healthy living.
Organize and supervise practical food preparation sessions while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Develop lesson plans that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application.
Assess students' academic and practical performance and provide constructive feedback.
Prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and internal examinations.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
Foster students’ understanding of healthy eating habits and the relationship between nutrition and overall well-being.
Create an engaging learning environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Requirements
Degree in Home Economics, Food and Nutrition, Education, or a related field.
Relevant teaching certification may be required.
Experience teaching Food and Nutrition at the secondary school level is preferred.
Strong practical food preparation and nutrition knowledge.
Good classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively manage practical laboratory and kitchen activities.
Familiarity with both the Nigerian and Cambridge curricula is an added advantage.
