    School Administrator

    Job Description

    • Are you a highly organised leader looking for your next challenge? We are looking for a trustworthy and personable School Administrator to join our school.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Maintaining a visible, approachable, and welcoming stance for parents and other stakeholders of the school.
    • Implementing policies, systems, and procedures, ensuring the school operates smoothly and efficiently.
    • Assisting with public relations and marketing activities for the promotion of the school.
    • Managing the pupil life cycle from registration/admission to graduation/leaving.
    • Dealing with queries and managing complaints procedures effectively.
    • Liaising with government agencies, contractors/vendors, and prospective parents visiting the school.
    • Generating statutory and non-statutory reports and returns to the Local Authority and government, ensuring deadlines are met and dealing with queries and complaints procedures as required.
    • Undertaking word processing, IT-based tasks, and school correspondences.
    • Holding responsibility for establishing and maintaining high moral and disciplinary standards.
    • Ensuring the health and safety of pupils, staff, and visitors to the school.
    • Encouraging and sustaining parents’ interest and participation in the school community.
    • Organising and facilitating a variety of educational and social activities.
    • Managing recruitment, onboarding of new school staff, and overseeing staff reviews and development.
    • Conducting regular classroom observations, walkthroughs, and reviews of lesson to ensure adherence to the curriculum.
    • This role demands a proactive, results-driven individual who can contribute to the development and success of the school community.

    Job Requirements

    • Location: Must reside in Ibadan and be able to commute easily to Jericho, Ibadan.
    • Educational Qualifications: BA / B.Ed / B.Sc.; a Master’s Degree in Education Administration/Management. Professional certification in Human Resources Management is an added advantage.
    • Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in personnel management and leadership within the educational sector. Strong familiarity with the British National Curriculum is essential.
    • Gender Preference: Preferably female, with poise and a strong enthusiasm for being part of a dynamic team dedicated to serving the school community.

    Core Competencies:

    • Ability to work effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and senior management.
    • Thorough understanding of school policies, procedures, and administrative techniques.
    • Strong knowledge of standard office practices, equipment, and procedures.
    • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Advanced IT skills, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for data management, correspondence, reports, and newsletters.
    • Excellent leadership, organisational, and management skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the ability to maintain professionalism in all situations.
    • High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.

    Personal Qualities:

    • Must be disciplined, well-rounded, and possess the personal characteristics essential for effective collaboration and leadership.
    • Ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues, parents, and pupils while continuously improving practices.
    • A team player who can motivate, inspire, and support staff while communicating a clear vision and direction for the school.
    • Proven track record of successfully collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve school goals and objectives.
