    Sales Manager

    Job Purpose:

    • The Sales Manager, G2S is responsible for driving the sales and distribution of solar panel products across Nigeria and within Africa. This includes developing and managing relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and major off-takers in the renewable energy market. The role requires a commercially driven, highly proactive sales professional capable of developing go-to-market strategies, identifying sales opportunities, and expanding the organization’s solar panel footprint in urban and rural markets alike. The ideal candidate must have an in-depth understanding of solar energy products, market dynamics, customer behaviors, and distribution channels in Nigeria.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Market Development and Sales Execution

    • Develop and implement a national sales strategy for solar panels across Nigeria’s regional markets.
    • Identify and engage solar panel distributors, major off-takers, and end users including residential estates, commercial buildings, government agencies, and renewable energy developers.
    • Manage sales pipelines and ensure consistent achievement of sales targets through effective prospecting, deal closure, and account management.
    • Lead the execution of direct and indirect sales programs to penetrate underserved markets and increase product adoption.
    • Design and run product demonstration campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team to drive market awareness and conversion.

    Channel Management

    • Establish, train, and grow a robust network of regional distributors, wholesalers, and resellers to increase market reach.
    • Monitor distributor performance, set sales targets, and drive compliance with pricing and promotional strategies.
    • Support partners with necessary sales enablement tools and ensure timely delivery of products.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Build and manage relationships with key industry stakeholders, including energy cooperatives, community solar initiatives, NGOs, and microgrid operators.
    • Act as the primary commercial point of contact for large-scale buyers and institutional customers.
    • Track customer satisfaction metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve retention and referrals.

    Market Intelligence and Strategy

    • Conduct regular market assessments to understand customer preferences, pricing sensitivities, competitive offerings, and regulatory trends in Nigeria’s renewable energy sector.
    • Use insights to refine product offerings, market entry strategies, and promotional campaigns.
    • Identify new business models or partnerships to accelerate growth and sales performance.

    Documentation, Reporting & Forecasting

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer engagements, sales orders, distribution contracts, and forecasts.
    • Provide weekly sales reports, market feedback, and inventory updates to the VP Procurement & Commercial and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Track and report on KPIs, including revenue, volume, customer growth, and market share.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales or business development, preferably within the renewable energy or solar energy sector in Nigeria.
    • Proven experience managing distributors and B2B sales in a technical or energy-related product environment.
    • Proven experience of pushing a new brand into the market
    • Strong knowledge of solar panel technology, installation applications, and competitive landscape in Nigeria.
    • Ability to travel extensively across Nigeria to meet clients and partners.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • High degree of initiative and independence
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with procurement, technical, and finance teams
    • Results-oriented with a strong focus on execution and accountability
