    Regulatory/Compliance Counsel

    Role Description

    • This is a full-time hybrid role for a Regulatory/Compliance Counsel at Bluebulb Financials Limited.
    • The Regulatory/Compliance Counsel will report to the General Counsel and be responsible for supporting the compliance team, ensuring smooth working relations with law enforcement agencies, addressing litigation and dispute resolution issues, and navigating complex regulatory frameworks.
    • This role is primarily located in Lagos with flexibility for remote work.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 4–10 years of experience in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on financial services, capital markets, and the payments ecosystem.
    • Proven experience in litigation and dispute resolution, especially in the financial services/fintech/payments sector.
    • Good knowledge of payments system industry
    • Cross-jurisdictional regulatory compliance experience, particularly in UK, Canada, Kenya and Nigeria.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Relevant legal qualifications and certifications
    • Experience in the financial services/payments industry is a must

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; Master's Degree (LLM) or specialized legal qualifications are advantageous.
    • Must be admitted to practice law in Nigeria. Bar qualifications in foreign jurisdictions (UK or Canada) is a plus.
    • Professional Certification: Member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Certifications in compliance, Arbitration/Mediation Institutes are desirable.
