    Quantity Surveyor

    Job Summary:

    • The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. The role involves ensuring value for money while achieving the required standards and quality.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for projects.
    • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs.
    • Manage the tendering process — preparing tender documents, evaluating contractor bids, and making recommendations.
    • Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
    • Conduct on-site measurements and valuation of work done for interim and final payments.
    • Identify potential financial or construction risks and advise on cost-effective solutions.
    • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Prepare progress reports, cost tracking, and financial statements for management.
    • Assist in contract administration, variations, and claims management.
    • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
    • Professional certification (e.g., NIQS, RICS, or equivalent) is an advantage.
    • Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Excel.
    • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

    Proficiency in Cost Control and Cost Management

    • Experience in preparing and managing BOQ and Cost Planning
    • Ability to develop and deliver detailed Cost Reporting
    • Strong analytical and numerical skills for budget planning and financial assessments
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Relevant professional certifications or membership (e.g., RICS or NIQS) will be an advantage
    • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
