Job Summary
The ICT Officer will provide strategic leadership, management oversight, and technical direction for the organization’s information and communication technology operations. The role requires a professional who can function effectively as a team leader, ensure reliable ICT service delivery, oversee systems, infrastructure, and digital tools, and build the technical capacity of staff across the organization.
The successful candidate will combine hands-on ICT expertise with strong managerial, coordination, and training skills.
Key Responsibilities
ICT Leadership & Management
- Provide leadership and oversight for all ICT functions, systems, and infrastructure.
- Manage Operations.
- Facilitate the implementation of strategic Initiatives.
- Drive Governance and implement governance initiatives
- Develop and implement ICT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the ICT team and external service providers.
- Assign tasks, set performance targets, and monitor team output and service quality.
- Prepare ICT work plans, budgets, and progress reports.
Systems & Infrastructure Oversight
- Oversee the management of networks, servers, databases, hardware, and software systems.
- Ensure availability, security, and optimal performance of ICT systems and digital platforms.
- Coordinate system upgrades, deployments, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure data protection, backups, cybersecurity controls, and business continuity plans are in place.
- Manage ICT assets, licenses, and inventory.
- Act as an interface between the organization and the I.T developers.
- Design, update and manage all organisational websites.
- Provide IT Support especially for web-based systems.
- Install new enabled IT processes and systems across clients’ functions.
- Drive market needs for IT solutions to increase market share.
- Align organizational I.T strategy with customer experience strategy.
- Support the facilitation, design and Automation of I.T systems.
- Troubleshoot on our I.T solution platform.
- Monitor and manage I.T systems for optimum performance.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of all I.T equipment including software.
- Address key accounts’ needs to maximize I.T solution generation
- Regularly update hard drives with the latest information collated.
Policy, Governance & Compliance
- Develop, review, and enforce ICT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, cybersecurity best practices, and organizational policies.
- Support internal and external audits related to ICT systems and controls.
- Identify ICT risks and implement mitigation measures.
Capacity Building & Training
- Assess ICT skills gaps across departments and develop capacity-building plans.
- Design and deliver ICT training sessions, workshops, and user support programs.
- Build staff capacity on enterprise systems, digital tools, cybersecurity awareness, and data management.
- Support the adoption of digital tools and automation to improve efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional ICT certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS) is an added advantage.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in ICT roles, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience leading ICT teams and overseeing enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building, staff training, or ICT knowledge transfer.
- Experience working in structured environments (consulting firm, corporate Organisations, NGO, or public sector) is an advantage.
