The position will be based in Nigeria and will report to the Team Leader. The position will last for approximately two years. Actual hiring is contingent upon signed agreement and GIZ approval. Nigeria nationals are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualize and implement 5 endogenous pilot approaches aimed at improving livelihoods in 20 communities in Kaduna and Taraba States
Share a detailed assessment report covering the 5 approaches, next steps, and recommendations
Adherence to safeguard and gender measures in project implementation
Qualifications
Post-graduate degree in veterinary sciences, agriculture, agricultural systems, environmental science, development studies, or another degree relevant in the context of the assignment
10 years professional advisory services in, sustainable agriculture, geology/hydrology, or climate frameworks
5 years' experience on one or more of the following topics: nature-based solutions, alternative irrigation, food security, climate resilience and adaptation, climate-smart agriculture (all the topics mentioned need to be covered by at least one of the 5 experts)
