Logistics Manager at Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc

PURPOSE 

To lead and optimize end-to-end logistics operations across multiple production sites, warehouses, depots, and distribution channels, ensuring efficient transportation, inventory movement, customer deliveries, and cost-effective logistics performance while maintaining high service and safety standards.

THE JOB​

• Develop and execute logistics strategies to ensure the timely movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products across plants, depots, and customer locations.
• Optimize truck utilization, route planning, fleet deployment, and transportation schedules to improve operational efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations to ensure delivery targets and customer service levels are consistently achieved.
• Source, evaluate, and manage transporters and haulage partners to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation services nationwide.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning, Sales, Procurement, Production, and Finance teams to align distribution plans with business and customer requirements.
• Monitor logistics KPIs including OTIF, truck utilization, freight cost per ton, delivery lead time, vehicle turnaround time, and cost-to-serve metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement contingency plans to mitigate logistics disruptions and supply chain risks.

THE PERSON MUST ​

• Demonstrate strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external logistics partners.
• Possess extensive knowledge of transportation, distribution, fleet management, supply chain planning, and logistics operations.
• Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a focus on cost optimization and operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATION

• HND/Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.

EXPERIENCE​

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in Logistics, Transportation, Warehouse, or Supply Chain Management.
