    Local Partner Engagement for Powering Peace Through Climate Action (PPCA) Phase II

    Purpose of the Partnership

    International Alert Nigeria seeks to engage one or more local partners or national NGOs with proven experience in climate change, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding to support project implementation in Benue and Sokoto States. The selected partners will contribute technical expertise, community access, and coordination support to ensure locally led and sustainable impact.

    Scope of Work

    The partner(s) will:

    • Support the development and implementation of Local Peace and Adaptation Plans (LPAPs).
    • Facilitate inclusive community dialogues
    • Strengthen community climate hubs and demonstration sites promoting joint natural resource management.
    • Conduct capacity building on climate-sensitive peacebuilding and conflict-sensitive adaptation.
    • Engage in media outreach to promote social cohesion and climate awareness 
    • Collaborate with state institutions to align project efforts with government climate adaptation strategies.
    • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) and documentation of best practices.

    Selection Criteria

    Eligible organizations must:

    • Be a legally registered NGO/CBO in Nigeria.
    • Have at least 5 years of experience in implementing projects related to climate change, conflict prevention, peacebuilding, or environmental governance.
    • Demonstrate strong knowledge and presence in Benue and/or Sokoto States.
    • Have established relationships with state and local government ministries/departments, community leaders, and civil society.
    • Be skilled in participatory community engagement and gender/youth inclusion.
    • Show capacity in documentation, reporting, and knowledge sharing.
    • Possess experience in managing donor funds and ensuring compliance with financial and narrative reporting standards.

    Duration

    The partnership will run for a period of 12 months (with the possibility of extension), aligned with the overall project implementation timeline.

    Selection Process

    Submissions will be evaluated based on relevance, organizational capacity, experience, and alignment with project goals. Only shortlisted organizations will be contacted for further engagement.
