    Verification Officer / Secretary

    Location: Ikota, Lagos

    Industry: Water Servicing/Production Company

    Data accuracy: 

    • Ensures accuracy of client data & service status.
    • Update into the systems records from verification findings or outcome.

    Field/On-site inspections: 

    • Carry out on-site inspections (field visits) to prevent fraud & meet regulatory requirements.
    • Carry out periodic visits to residential area (estate) to confirm operational status of homes (if lived-in or empty).
    • Work with plumbers to confirm water provision status that homes with no resident or inactive accounts have no running water.

    Reporting:

    Provide detailed reports of findings, identifying discrepancies or red flags from investigation outcomes to the General Manager.

    Stakeholder interaction:

    • Liaise with other requisite operational units to resolve discrepancies.

    Office Management: 

    • Maintains files & records & update databases monthly.

    Correspondence:

    • Handling letters, co-ordinate & arrange meetings with external bodies.

    Organization: 

    • Strong multitasking abilities & time management

    Key skills:

    • Attention to details: ability to spot inconsistencies & inaccuracies in both documentations & service deployments.
    • Analytical skills: Strong analytical abilities for investigation & risk assessment.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal & written skills for reporting & troubleshoot.
    • Technical proficiency: Competence in MS office & database management platforms.
    • Integrity: High level of professionalism & discretion in handling sensitive data.

    Experience: 

    Previous experience in verification role or background screening or compliance/ customer service.

    Education:

    Requires a degree or diploma in a relevant field such as finance, administration or criminal justice.
