    Investment Analyst

    About the job

    • As an entry-level Investment Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic and growing team with an evolving mandate that fosters the growth of early-stage startups across various industries in the African digital technology ecosystem.
    • You are expected to develop rigorous insights on multiple subjects, including commerce, media, education, health care, consumer finance, and financial inclusion.
    • Your role would involve interacting with Angel investor communities, venture capitalists, business networks, and entrepreneur communities across Africa.
    • The successful candidate will support the investment team in executing investment pipeline transactions, performing research and analysis, and providing administrative support to back-end operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the investment team in screening and managing deal flow, reviewing pitch decks, and other investment-related material from initial screening to closing.
    • Conduct research on potential investments, including industry research, financial analysis, and due diligence.
    • Assist in the execution of investment transactions and the maintenance and update of investment databases, including tracking investment performance and assisting in the generation of reports.
    • Provide administrative support to the investment team, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes of meetings, coordinating programs and events, and managing expense reports.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and communication.

    Requirements

    • Background in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field
    • At least one year of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, venture capital, private equity, or a related field.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
