As an entry-level Investment Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic and growing team with an evolving mandate that fosters the growth of early-stage startups across various industries in the African digital technology ecosystem.
You are expected to develop rigorous insights on multiple subjects, including commerce, media, education, health care, consumer finance, and financial inclusion.
Your role would involve interacting with Angel investor communities, venture capitalists, business networks, and entrepreneur communities across Africa.
The successful candidate will support the investment team in executing investment pipeline transactions, performing research and analysis, and providing administrative support to back-end operations.
Responsibilities
Support the investment team in screening and managing deal flow, reviewing pitch decks, and other investment-related material from initial screening to closing.
Conduct research on potential investments, including industry research, financial analysis, and due diligence.
Assist in the execution of investment transactions and the maintenance and update of investment databases, including tracking investment performance and assisting in the generation of reports.
Provide administrative support to the investment team, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes of meetings, coordinating programs and events, and managing expense reports.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and communication.
Requirements
Background in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field
At least one year of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, venture capital, private equity, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
