    Finance Officer

    Famkris Healthcare Initiative is implementing the Support to Malaria Elimination Project (SMEP) funded by the Lives and Livelihoods Fund (LLF) and implemented on behalf of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).

    The project aims to strengthen malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in collaboration with national and state health authorities, contributing to improved health outcomes across FCT and Kogi State.

    Job Summary

    The Finance Officer will support financial management and accounting functions for the SMEP program across FCT and Kogi State.

    The role will support financial reporting, transaction documentation, budget monitoring, and ensuring compliance with donor and organizational financial policies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
    • Process financial transactions and ensure proper documentation in line with organizational procedures.
    • Assist with monitoring project expenditures against approved budgets.
    • Prepare payment vouchers and support processing of payments.
    • Process staff advances and ensure timely liquidation of expenses.
    • Support reconciliation of bank accounts and financial records.
    • Maintain organized financial documentation for audits and reviews.
    • Ensure statutory deductions and payments are processed appropriately.
    • Support preparation of periodic financial reports.
    • Provide financial and administrative support to program activities as required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Professional accounting certification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA) or progress toward certification is an advantage.
    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
    • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial record keeping.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
    • Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software is an advantage.
    • Experience working on donor-funded or development projects will be an added advantage.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Willingness to travel up to 30% to Kogi State when required.
