About CLEEN Foundation
The CLEEN Foundation (formerly known as Centre for Law Enforcement Education) is non governmental organization established in January 1998 with the mission of promoting public safety, security and accessible justice through the strategies of empirical research, legislative advocacy, demonstration programmes and publications, in partnership with government and civil society.
Our core values are:
· Professionalism
· Integrity
· Team spirit
· Respect for human rights
· Innovation
CLEEN’s organisational structure is intended to encourage staff members to be involved in all aspects of project work, from conception to proposal writing, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and assessment, and to work effectively as a team to achieve our organisational objectives. CLEEN also believes in constant in-house and professional training for staff in areas applicable to its work, constantly developing staff skills and abilities.
CLEEN’s Board of Directors meets quarterly and is active in all aspects of CLEEN’s work, with Board members designated to provide input and assistance to different programmes and departments usually in areas relating to their own expertise, as well as oversee all financial and organisational management issues within the CLEEN Foundation.
Resources for CLEEN’s programming come from a variety of sources, but largely from international foundations and donor agencies such Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Open Society Institute, Department for International Development (DFID), British Council etc. CLEEN is always looking to widen its funding and is planning to work with some domestic and international corporations to develop their contributions to community-based projects. Institutional and core support funding are also welcomed to assist CLEEN’s organisational development. The CLEEN Foundation is registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission as a non profit organisation and its accounts are independently audited and published annually.
