Job Overview

The ED/COO will provide executive leadership over the Bank’s end-to-end operations, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, service delivery efficiency, and effective execution of the Bank’s strategic and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate Board-approved strategy into executable operational plans across branches and channels.
• Provide executive oversight of mortgage processing, branch operations, back office, IT-enabled operations, and service delivery.
• Drive operational efficiency, process standardisation, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Ensure robust operational risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience frameworks.
• Manage operational budgets, cost optimisation, and performance metrics.
• Provide executive leadership to operations leadership teams and shared services.
• Represent operations at Board, regulatory, and strategic stakeholder engagements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Master’s degree (MBA or MSc) highly desirable.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CIBN, ICAN/ANAN; CFA added advantage).
• Minimum 15–20 years’ banking experience, including 7–10 years in senior management or executive operations roles, preferably within mortgage or regulated financial institutions.
• In-depth knowledge of mortgage banking operations and regulatory frameworks
• Strong operational risk and control management skills
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making abilities
• Resilient and adaptable in a regulated environment
