Job Summary
The Human Resources Officer will play a vital role in managing and supporting the full spectrum of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. This position ensures adherence to Nigerian labor laws, promotes a positive work environment, and provides effective administrative support to enhance organizational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound HR judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to balance people management with operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process including job postings, shortlisting, interviews, and selection.
- Facilitate onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires into the company.
- Maintain updated records of recruitment activities and candidate pipelines.
Employee Relations and Compliance
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and grievances, ensuring timely and fair resolution.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently communicated and enforced.
- Maintain compliance with Nigerian labor laws and statutory requirements.
- Support disciplinary and grievance procedures when required.
Performance and Development
- Assist in implementing performance management systems to promote productivity and accountability.
- Support learning and development initiatives across departments.
4. HR Administration and Record Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
- Monitor and manage employee attendance, leave, and time-off requests.
- Handle administrative tasks including document filing, reporting, and HR correspondence.
Legal and Vendor Relations
- Manage legal paperwork and renewal of permits or licenses as required.
- Liaise with vendors, consultants, and other external partners to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Maintain proper logs and documentation for vendor management and contracts.
General HR Support
- Contribute to HR projects, initiatives, and policy development.
- Provide reports and analytics to management as needed.
- Support the HR department in fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./HND) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant HR experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR information systems.
- Professional HR certifications are an added advantage.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
