They are seeking a seasoned HR & Admin Manager to lead the people operations and administrative functions. This role is designed for a strategic yet hands-on professional who thrives in the fast-paced environment of the construction industry and possesses a "boots-on-the-ground" approach to labor relations. You will be responsible for harmonizing a diverse workforce and ensuring the administrative backbone is as solid as the company's engineering projects.
The ideal candidate must be a firm but fair negotiator with deep experience in the Nigerian construction landscape and an understanding of the technical demands of M&E projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for unions; lead collective bargaining, grievance handling, and proactive conflict resolution to maintain uninterrupted site operations.
Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment for technical M&E and site-based roles, performance management, and career development.
Manage office facilities, procurement of office supplies, and the company’s fleet (including maintenance and driver management).
Ensure all HR and administrative activities strictly adhere to Nigerian Labor Laws and industry-specific safety/engineering regulations.
Provide high-level HR metrics and administrative cost reports to senior management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (Professional certifications like CIPM or PHRi are a significant plus).
Minimum of 8 years of HR experience specifically within the construction or related heavy-industry field.
At least 5 years of proven experience maintaining industrial harmony within a unionized environment.
A proven track record of managing both HR and Administrative departments in a multinational or regional setting.
Exceptional negotiation skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage complex logistics across multiple project sites.
