About the Role
We are seeking a diligent, reliable, and service-oriented Housekeeper (Male Preferred) to join our hospitality team at a reputable beach resort located in Lekki–Ajah, Lagos.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of guest rooms and public areas—ensuring guests enjoy a pleasant, comfortable, and memorable stay. This position requires professionalism, stamina, and a strong commitment to maintaining high hospitality standards in a dynamic resort environment.
Key Responsibilities
Room Cleaning & Sanitation
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Sanitize bathrooms, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
- Ensure all rooms meet hygiene and presentation standards before guest check-in.
Bed & Linen Management
- Change bed linens, towels, and other room amenities as required.
- Make beds neatly and maintain a welcoming room appearance.
- Report linen shortages or damages to the supervisor.
Restocking & Inventory Management
- Replenish guest amenities (toiletries, towels, beverages).
- Restock housekeeping carts and storage areas with supplies.
- Track and report low stock levels to ensure timely replenishment.
Guest Service & Communication
- Respond promptly and politely to guest requests and inquiries.
- Report lost and found items to the front desk or housekeeping supervisor.
- Maintain a professional, courteous attitude when interacting with guests.
Maintenance & Reporting
- Report maintenance issues (leaks, broken fixtures, damages) to the maintenance team.
- Conduct basic checks on room facilities to ensure full functionality.
Public Area Cleaning
- Clean and maintain lobbies, hallways, staircases, and beach access areas.
- Keep all high-traffic and visible areas neat, sanitized, and guest-ready throughout the day.
Additional Duties (as required)
- Assist with laundry services including washing, folding, and ironing.
- Support other departments (e.g., kitchen or service staff) with basic tasks.
- Provide evening or turndown service when applicable.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC certificate.
Additional training or certification in Housekeeping or Hospitality is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional housekeeping experience in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, materials, and safety standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform cleaning duties for long periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Integrity, reliability, and professional conduct.
Preference:
- Male candidates preferred due to the physical nature and operational demands of the role.
