Job Description
Plan and prepare menus, recipes, and food production schedules to ensure high-quality food and presentation.
Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Lead, motivate, and train the kitchen team to ensure high-quality food and service.
Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are met, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe condition .Conduct patient surveys, interviews and focus groups to gather feedback on all aspects of the patient experience.
Monitor food costs and identify areas of cost increase or reduction while maintaining quality standards
Monitor food quality and consistency, ensuring freshness and proper handling of ingredients
Develop policies and procedures and implement quality control measures to prevent food-borne illnesses and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
Manage food inventory, including receiving deliveries, inspecting quality and rotating stock to minimize waste
Collaborate with Nursing department to develop and implement patient menus based on dietary needs and medical requirements
Communicate effectively with Nursing staff, patient care teams and other departments regarding meal delivery schedules and dietary concerns
Build relationships with patients, actively listening to their feedback and provide support throughout their stay in the facility
Requirements
First Degree in Culinary Arts, hospitality or related field (post graduate degree is an added advantage
Experience in a healthcare food services setting preferred
