Group Head of Public Sector at Kloverharris Limited

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic professional to lead and oversee our public sector engagements in Lagos. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing relationships with government institutions, understanding public sector financing, and driving business growth within the commercial banking environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of the Lagos public sector landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the public sector portfolio in Lagos, ensuring profitable growth and risk management.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to strengthen relationships with government institutions, parastatals, and key stakeholders.
• Identify business opportunities within the public sector and collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Drive business development initiatives, including project financing, advisory services, and public-private partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the public sector team, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
• Monitor market trends, policy changes, and government initiatives that may impact business operations or opportunities.
• Prepare and present regular reports to the executive management on performance, opportunities, and challenges in the public sector.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the banking sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing public sector clients.
• Deep understanding of Lagos public sector operations, government processes, and regulatory environment.
• Strong track record of business development and revenue growth in the public sector.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with senior government officials.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
