    Front Desk/HMO Officer

    Job Summary:
     
    Silver Cross Healthcare and Diagnostics is seeking a professional, organized, and friendly individual to join our team as a Front Desk/HMO Officer. This role is pivotal in ensuring a welcoming experience for our patients and visitors, as well as facilitating smooth interactions with Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs). The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a warm demeanor, and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
     
    Front Desk Duties:

    • Patient and Visitor Reception: Welcome patients and visitors, providing guidance and information as needed.
    • Phone Management: Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls professionally.
    • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and confirm patient appointments accurately, ensuring correct entry in the scheduling system.
    • Patient Registration and Documentation: Manage patient check-in, update records, and verify required documentation is completed.
    • Inquiries on Services: Address questions regarding hospital services, policies, and procedures.
    • Reception Area Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
    • Team Coordination: Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
    • Billing and Payment Processing: Handle payments and respond to billing inquiries accurately.

    HMO Officer Duties:

    • HMO Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for HMO-related matters, managing communications between the hospital and HMO representatives.
    • Patient Verification: Verify HMO eligibility and benefits for patients, ensuring accurate patient information and entitlements.
    • Authorization and Approvals: Obtain necessary authorizations and approvals from HMOs for specific services or treatments.
    • Claims Management: Assist in preparing, submitting, and tracking claims with HMOs, following up on pending or rejected claims to ensure prompt payment.
    • Billing Coordination: Work with the billing team to ensure accurate invoicing and timely processing of HMO payments.
    • Reporting: Generate reports on HMO-related activities, including patient statistics, claims status, and outstanding balances.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of an OND (Ordinary National Diploma) or equivalent in a related field.
    • Experience in healthcare, customer service, or HMO coordination is preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
    • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office and scheduling/billing software.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in high-pressure situations.
