The Fleet Manager oversees daily fleet operations, including vehicle tracking, performance monitoring, record keeping, compliance management, budgeting, and reporting. The role manages vendor contracts, enforces safety procedures, coordinates driver training, and works with internal teams to maintain reliable and cost-controlled fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Tracking & Monitoring: Develop and maintain systems for vehicle tracking to enhance fleet management and operational efficiency.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor fleet performance metrics to optimize operations, reduce costs, and improve utilization.
Compliance & Integrity: Ensure fleet compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
Fleet Records Management: Maintain accurate fleet records for transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports on fleet operations to support management decision-making.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to address fleet needs and provide training on fleet-related processes.
Budgeting & Cost Efficiency: Manage budgets for fleet operations, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
Vendor Management: Oversee contracts and relationships with vehicle suppliers, maintenance providers, and other service vendors.
Safety & Training: Develop and enforce safety protocols, and organize training programs for drivers and fleet staff.
Optimization & Strategy Implementation: Implement strategies to enhance fleet efficiency, leveraging performance insights and industry best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ proven experience in fleet management or transport operations.
Strong knowledge of fleet management systems and vehicle tracking technologies.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Understanding of transport regulations, compliance standards, and safety protocols.
Familiarity with budgeting and cost control in fleet operations.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to lead and train teams effectively.
Valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel or work flexible hours when required.
