Position Summary

The Financial (Fixed Income) Market Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing our financial research and news capabilities by focusing on the fixed income market. This position involves monitoring government and corporate bonds, treasury bills, and other fixed income securities to provide in-depth analysis and reporting.

Location: Lagos

Key Responsibilities

• Market Analysis: Track and analyze fixed income markets, including bond yields, prices, and market trends.
• Research and Reporting: Produce detailed reports and articles on fixed income securities, auctions, and market movements.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate the risk and return profiles of various fixed income instruments and provide recommendations.
• Policy Analysis: Analyze central bank policies, interest rates, and economic indicators to assess their impact on the fixed income market.
• Fixed Income Securities Tracking: Monitor fixed income markets, including prices, yields, offers, and auction results, to inform investment strategies and reporting.
• Event Participation: Attend AGMs, investor relations calls, and other relevant financial events to gather firsthand information and insights.
• Content Creation: Write high-quality news and research articles that articulate complex financial data and market trends in an accessible manner for its’ audience.
• Media Appearances: Represent the company in TV appearances or other media engagements to provide analysis and insights into financial markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Work Experience

• Proven  experience of at least 4 years  in financial analysis, market research, or a related field, with a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.
• Experience in journalism or financial reporting is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information into accessible and engaging news and research articles.
• Previous experience in public speaking or media appearances is advantageous.
