Key Responsibilities 

• Monitor local and international news wires, social media trends (X, TikTok, WhatsApp), and government handles 24/7. 
• Execute our "Speed-First" protocol—getting a headline and summary live within 5 minutes of a major event. 
• Craft catchy, searchable headlines that dominate Google Search and Discover. 
• Quickly fact-check "viral gist" to ensure the blog maintains high credibility and avoids fake news. 
• Attach relevant photos, videos, or social media embeds to enhance story engagement. Required Skills & Qualifications 
• An obsessive interest in Nigerian politics, security, and global affairs. 
• Ability to write clean, error-free copy under intense pressure. 
• Familiarity with WordPress (Gutenberg editor), SEO tools (Yoast/RankMath), and TweetDeck/X Pro. 
• Willingness to work dedicated night shifts or weekend rotations (remote options available). 

Technical Skills

• Mastery of the “inverted pyramid” style (putting the most important news first).
• Knowledge of keyword placement, meta-descriptions, and writing headlines that rank on Google News.
• Expert use of tools like Google Reverse Image Search to spot fake news before publishing.
• High proficiency in WordPress or similar news-based platforms.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in a fast-paced newsroom or digital blog environment.
• Degree in Journalism or Mass Communication.
• Deep understanding of Nigerian media law, defamation, and digital ethics.
