    Chief Marketing Officer

    Job Summary

    The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing the Bank's marketing, business development, and customer acquisition strategies to drive deposit mobilization, loan portfolio growth, brand visibility, customer retention, and overall profitability. The CMO will lead initiatives aimed at expanding the Bank's market share, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring the achievement of business growth targets in compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's strategic objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement the Bank's marketing and business development strategy in line with corporate objectives.
    • Drive customer acquisition and retention across all market segments.
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities, products, and target markets.
    • Formulate strategies to increase deposits, loans, and other banking products and services.
    • Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
    • Lead the Bank's deposit mobilization initiatives and ensure the achievement of deposit growth targets.
    • Develop and execute strategies for attracting retail, SME, corporate, and institutional deposits.
    • Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, associations, cooperatives, and corporate organizations.
    • Monitor deposit performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
    • Collaborate with the Credit and Risk Departments to develop strategies for quality loan portfolio expansion.
    • Identify viable lending opportunities within target sectors and communities.
    • Ensure marketing activities support responsible lending practices and portfolio quality objectives.
    • Develop and maintain a strong and consistent corporate brand identity.
    • Oversee advertising, public relations, sponsorships, and promotional activities.
    • Enhance the Bank's visibility through strategic marketing campaigns and community engagement programs.
    • Manage the Bank's reputation and public image.
    • Drive digital marketing initiatives across social media, website, email marketing, and other digital platforms.
    • Develop customer engagement and loyalty programs.
    • Monitor customer feedback and recommend service improvement initiatives.
    • Promote digital banking channels and alternative delivery platforms.
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, regulators, community leaders, trade associations, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent the Bank at business forums, conferences, exhibitions, and networking events.
    • Establish partnerships that support business growth and market penetration.
    • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the Marketing and Business Development team.
    • Set performance targets and monitor achievement of departmental objectives.
    • Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, and customer service excellence.
    • Identify training and development needs for team members.
    • Ensure all marketing activities comply with the regulations of the Central Bank of Nigeria, applicable laws, and the Bank's policies.
    • Ensure adherence to anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), and consumer protection requirements.
    • Identify and mitigate marketing and reputational risks.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Banking and Finance, or a related field.
    • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related discipline is an added advantage.
    • Relevant professional certifications
    • Minimum of 7–10 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, or microfinance, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
    • Proven track record in deposit mobilization, business development, and strategic marketing.
