    Business Development Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Business Development Manager will play a critical leadership role in driving revenue growth, expanding outlet footprint, and strengthening brand presence for a Confectionery/QSR brand
    • This role requires an entrepreneurial business leader with strong commercial instincts, deep understanding of the Nigerian consumer market, and exposure to global QSR and confectionery trends.
    • The successful candidate will take timely decisions in fast-paced operational environments, and ensure the brand achieves sustainable growth across dine-in, takeaway, delivery, partnerships, and franchising channels.

    Key Responsibilities
    Business Growth & Market Expansion:

    • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive sales growth across QSR outlets, kiosks, and distribution channels.
    • Identify and evaluate expansion opportunities including new store locations, franchising models, cloud kitchens, and retail partnerships.
    • Leverage global confectionery and QSR trends to improve menu innovation, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
    • Lead feasibility studies, location assessments, and ROI analysis for new outlets and formats.

    Revenue, Sales & Partnerships:

    • Drive topline revenue growth through strategic partnerships, B2B sales, catering contracts, and corporate supply agreements.
    • Identify and negotiate partnerships with malls, fuel stations, supermarkets, delivery platforms, and event organizers.
    • Develop pricing, bundling, and promotional strategies that improve volume, margins, and customer retention.
    • Oversee key account management and ensure long-term value from partnerships.

    Leadership & Business Oversight:

    • Act as a business lead with oversight of commercial performance across outlets and channels.
    • Work closely with Operations, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Store Managers to ensure seamless execution of business strategies.
    • Provide leadership and direction to sales, business development, and partnership teams.
    • Take decisive, on-the-spot decisions in dynamic QSR environments to resolve operational or commercial challenges.

    Nigerian Market & Consumer Insight:

    • Apply strong understanding of the Nigerian economy, inflation trends, FX pressures, and consumer purchasing behavior to strategy and pricing decisions.
    • Monitor regulatory, food safety, and compliance requirements relevant to QSR and confectionery businesses.
    • Adapt global best practices to local tastes, price sensitivity, and operational realities.

    Entrepreneurial & Innovation Drive:

    • Identify growth opportunities in menu innovation, seasonal offerings, and localized products.
    • Explore new revenue streams such as private label confectionery, online sales, bulk orders, and export opportunities.
    • Drive pilot initiatives, test-and-learn programs, and scalable growth models.

    Key Requirements & Qualifications
    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).
    • Minimum of 8–10 years experience in business development, commercial leadership, or operations within QSR, FMCG, food service, or hospitality.
    • Proven experience in outlet expansion, franchising, or multi-location retail management.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with ownership mentality.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the Nigerian QSR and consumer food market.
    • Exposure to global QSR or confectionery brands and best practices.
    • Excellent negotiation and partnership management skills.
    • Ability to make fast, sound commercial and operational decisions.
    • Strong leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Solid financial and analytical skills, including P&L oversight and cost management.
