Area Sales Manager (Manufacturing Company) at iRecruiters Africa Limited

• The company is seeking to hire a results-oriented Area Sales Manager (ASM) who will be responsible for driving sales growth, market penetration, and distribution effectiveness within an assigned territory. The role involves managing distributors and a field sales team to ensure achievement of volume, value, and coverage targets across FMCG products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute area sales plans in alignment with the company's sales objectives.
• Manage and supervise Sales Representatives to drive productivity and target achievement.
• Appoint, manage, and monitor distributors within the assigned territory.
• Ensure effective product availability, visibility, and distribution across all channels.
• Track sales performance, market coverage, and route-to-market effectiveness.
• Monitor competitor activities and provide market intelligence and insights.
• Build strong relationships with key trade partners and major accounts.
• Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and performance reviews for management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing, and trade terms

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5+ years of FMCG sales experience, with at least 2 years in an Area Sales or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of FMCG distribution models and trade execution.
• Proven ability to manage distributors and field sales teams.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
