Position Description

• We are looking for Operations Chief Superintendent Maintenance Candidates for Refinery. It is essential that the candidate should have relevant Refinery, experience/Petrochemical Plants experience, to build the World's largest single stream train Greenfield refinery and Petrochemical complex site based candidates for Nigeria, Lagos.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists and fills in for Manager of Maintenance and Projects
• Ensures safety procedures and work control procedures are implemented and maintained across the Refinery.
• Manages routine maintenance of the Refinery units and Offsite Facilities including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil Maintenance.
• Ensures integrity and availability of all the equipment.
• Improves reliability in operation and on-stream factor of the Refinery on a continuous basis through advanced maintenance techniques, effective scheduled maintenance and training and development of Maintenance Team.
• Works with his team to implement predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, shop maintenance and shut down maintenance in a coordinated effort to support Operations Department.
• Coordinates with Engineering Department on a regular basis to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to routine maintenance.
• Ensures availability of all maintenance equipment / facilities/ resources/tools and tackles/ spares etc. for efficient maintenance.
• Responsible for excellent housekeeping across the Refinery.
• Supervises, coaches and develops professionally the Maintenance Superintendents and their professional reports Initial Project Activities.

Oversees and participates in:

• Provision of input to engineering from Maintenance perspective on start-up/shutdown systems, isolation, bypasses, drains, safety, etc.
• Management of technical assistance from major equipment vendors for startup and initial operation
• Preparation of detailed Maintenance manuals and procedures
• Preparation of training program for Maintenance
• Selection and formulation of Maintenance System, including Control of Work
• Recruitment of Maintenance core team

Desired Qualification/Preferred Competencies

• BS or MS degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical )
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in refinery maintenance, 5 years’ maintenance senior management experience in a major refinery.
• Demonstrated expertise with modern maintenance planning and control systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership qualities.
