Project Planner at X-Force Engineering Limited

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Project Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules and programs across all construction projects. Working closely with project managers, site teams, and clients, the role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with contractual obligations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and experienced in the construction environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop detailed project schedules, programmes, and work breakdown structures (WBS) for all assigned projects.
• Prepare and maintain baseline programmes, progress schedules, and look-ahead plans.
• Monitor and track project progress against approved schedules and report deviations promptly.
• Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks, delays, and mitigation measures.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, schedule updates, and earned value analyses.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and site teams to ensure schedule alignment.
• Assist in the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis documentation.
• Maintain resource-loaded schedules and support resource planning and allocation.
• Review subcontractor programmes and integrate them into the master project schedule.
• Support tender/bid teams in preparing project schedules and phasing plans for new proposals.
• Attend project meetings and provide planning input and schedule status updates.
• Ensure all planning documentation is properly filed and version-controlled.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certification (e.g. COREN, NIOB, PMP, or equivalent) — MANDATORY.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project planning within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in planning software — Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project — MANDATORY.
• Experience with high-rise structures and infrastructure projects — Added Advantage.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and project lifecycles.
• Experience in delay analysis and preparation of EOT claims — an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
